The house was built as a boarding house for the summer bathers, and at heart that is still what we do.
The house
The boarding house that stayed
Sillvik's boarding house opened in 1952 with twelve rooms, an outhouse and breakfast at eight o'clock sharp. Since then the house has been extended twice and renamed once, but the long table stands where it always stood and breakfast is included just as it was then. We who run it now took over in 2019 and live in the house next door.

Three things we hold on to
Breakfast is always included
A hotel room without breakfast is just a bed. The price you see includes breakfast for everyone in the room, whatever the room and season.
The kitchen follows the bay
The menu is written from what is actually there: fish from the auction, vegetables from the garden, apples from our own trees. That is why it changes often.
The house is small on purpose
Eighteen rooms is few enough that we can say good morning to everyone. We have chosen not to extend a third time.
Practical and honest
Getting here
The coast road to Sillvik, the last stretch on gravel. Bus 871 stops at the village shop, two hundred metres from our steps. Parking is free.
Accessibility
Two of the garden-side rooms are reached without stairs, as are the dining room and the terrace. The sauna jetty has steps; tell us and we will help.
The house and the environment
We burn wood from our own forest, heat with geothermal, and take breakfast leftovers to the hens in the village. No single-use packaging at breakfast.
